Simple Fall Porch Decorating

Wreath / Bracelet / Hat

Fall is my favorite season of the year. I love the turning of the leaves, making soups, sitting by the fire, and relaxing in cooler weather. Fall to me is about slowing down and appreciating the little things that life has to offer.

This year, more than any before, has been about enjoying the simple things. With so much uncertainty and chaos going on in everyone's lives, a little touch of beautiful simplicity is what we all need right now.

The older I get, the more I realize that high-design is all about keeping things simple. With too many decorations the eye doesn't know where to focus and your decor can end up feeling cluttered instead of chic. Start with what you like and then edit it down.

Chairs / Planter / Boxwood Ball / Pillow (old, similar) / Shirt / Shoes / Denim

We have 6 of these dining chairs in total, and since we aren't doing much entertaining these days, I thought it might be nice to move 2 of them to our front porch. It's had the added benefit of being a new spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine with Garrett.

This planter will stay evergreen on our porch. I like to add bows for Christmas and switch out the boxwood with something a little more fun for Halloween. It's such a great piece that is timeless and sophisticated.

Door Mat

Until the pumpkin season starts, I've dressed my front door with a mum in a simple basket that I already own. I always encourage people to "shop your home first". You might be surprised what items you have laying around the house that would look lovely for your seasonal decor.

We just had our house painted over the weekend, so I'm taking precautions not to chip off any on the door.
A trick to keep a wreath from scratching your door is to apply furniture pads or bumpers to the back of it.

You can see the progress from start to finish here by watching my story highlight "Ranch Revival".

Laila loves sitting outside these days and listening to the birds.

I hope you enjoyed these beautiful and simple ways to decorate your porch for fall. I'll be sharing some interior ideas soon, so follow along for more!
