Date Night at Home - Beer Tasting

Chairs / Beer Glasses / Bowl / His Shirt / My Jacket

With quarantine still in full swing, I think it's important for all of us to remember to make special nights at home with our loved ones. It's easy to get caught up with our daily routines and forget about date night.

Pre-Coronavirus, my husband and my favorite activity on the weekends was going to our local breweries and tasting beer. It's a great place to meet people, but also a casual spot to relax after a long week. For a fun alternative, I came up with a beer tasting at home for us. I put together a playlist, grabbed a few salty snacks, and went and picked up some of our favorite local beers.

We had so much fun with our beer tasting. We usually stick to one kind of beer when we go to the brewery, so it was fun for us to taste our favorites in a flight! It was so nice being at home with our dog, Laila and not having to deal with parking, ubers, or social distancing.

Check out my tips below on how to create your own beer tasting at home!

Make a beer-friendly charcuterie board. Add salty snacks to go with your tasting! I used pretzels, nuts, pickles, sharp cheddar cheese and popcorn.

Entertaining Tip:

One of my favorite entertaining hacks is to add chopped rosemary and fresh parmesan cheese to popcorn to give it an elevated flavor.

Support local! Head to your local corner store or brewery and pick up a few regional finds. Spice things up for fall with a pumpkin ale. Having a hard time choosing? Each of you pick 2 for the tasting and see which beer wins.

I picked up these cute beer tasting cards at Target. You could also download this printable version.

We had so much fun doing this activity! My favorite was the Citras Maximus from our local brewery, Gate City Brewery.

But if we are being honest, the popcorn was my favorite.
