Guest Room Design
Step into my favorite room in the house right now—the guest room, where dreams of old design principles come alive.
The Power of Relaxing Blue
To set the tone for a serene and welcoming atmosphere, I chose a bright blue paint color for the guest room walls from Sherwin Williams. This refreshing shade evokes the tranquility of the sky, creating an instant sense of calm for anyone who enters. The room has started to become a peaceful haven, inviting guests to unwind and embrace their escape.
Southern-Inspired Bed Cornice
Drawing inspiration from the timeless charm of Southern homes, I wanted to add a touch of elegance to the guest room. Working with a check fabric from Schumacher, I am currently in the process of creating a bed cornice that will serve as the room's focal point. This architectural element adds depth and visual interest while infusing the space with a classic Southern flair.
Playful Touches with Stuck on Hue
To keep the room from feeling too serious, I collaborated with Stuck on Hue to bring playful elements to the design. With her expertise, we crafted pillows using a classic Maisie Chintz fabric and added a bold ruffle for a touch of surprise. These decorative accents not only provide comfort but also inject personality and whimsy into the guest room, making it an inviting and lively space.
Anticipation of the Final Look
As each element falls into place, I eagerly await the moment when it all comes together. The combination of the relaxing blue walls, the charming bed cornice, and the vibrant pillows promises to create a guest room that balances serenity with a hint of excitement. It's a space that will envelop visitors in comfort and leave a lasting impression of Southern charm.
