Transforming Our Bedroom
Timeless Elegance
It’s been two years since we started working on this bedroom, and the progress is slowly coming to a close.

When we first laid eyes on our bedroom, it was a brown and somewhat uninspiring space. I saw potential and envisioned a serene, sophisticated retreat that would embody both classic elegance and modern comfort. With a lot of love and effort, we've come a long way from that initial state.
Our first major project was adding wall mouldings, which instantly elevated the room’s character. The crisp white paint we chose created a bright, clean canvas that made the space feel larger and more inviting. The pièce de résistance, however, was the stunning Schumacher wallpaper we framed within the mouldings. This choice added depth and an exquisite touch of luxury that I had always dreamed of.
I've had these charming small club chairs for years, patiently waiting for the perfect moment and place to use them. Covering them in a soft blue Sunbrella fabric gave them a new lease on life. To enhance their elegance, we transformed the channeled backs into tufted ones, resulting in a more refined and classic look. These chairs are now one of my favorite features in the room, providing both comfort and style.
A long-time dream of ours was to have a fireplace in our bedroom. We partnered with Fireplaces Direct to install a beautiful plug-in fireplace, and it has truly transformed our winters. Beyond its functional benefits, the fireplace adds a historic Parisian charm that perfectly complements the room's aesthetic.
We're still on the hunt for the perfect fabric to update our draperies—after all, Rome wasn’t built in a day! However, I'm confident that when we find it, it will be the finishing touch that completes our bedroom's transformation.
Finding the right pieces to complement our vision has been a fun journey. I discovered the most beautiful antique marble lamps on Chairish, which bring a unique and elegant touch to our bedside tables. Speaking of side tables, they are antiques as well that add character to the room.
