How to Make A Fall Charcuterie Board
I live for a good cheese board. Anytime I host a party or even just have friends over, I make a cheeseboard - big or small. Sometimes, instead of making dinner, I'll put together a cheeseboard and Garrett and I will snack on it instead. Here's how to make this gorgeous fall cheeseboard.
My Shopping List from Trader Joe's:
Triple Creme Brie from France
Syrah Soaked Creamy Toscano Cheese
Camembert
Figs
Rosemary
Raisin Crackers
3 pack of meat - should include salami
Blueberry & Vanilla Goat Cheese
Concord grapes
Using a knife or clean hands, crumble the end of the block of hard cheese. Do just enough that people can easily use a toothpick to try. If you don't like the idea of other people picking up the cheese knife and cutting into the cheese, go ahead and crumble the entire thing.
Next, you will add some of your fruit to the side. I follow this with surrounding the cheese with an herb - I like rosemary or basil.
On the other side of the board, add your next cheese. In this case, I put the sweet cheese opposite of the savory.
After you place the next cheese, carefully slice your brie into rectangles and layer them from back to front. Begin filling in the space in between with folded meats and fruit.
Try and balance the board. Put savory opposite from sweet and meat opposite from crackers. This will create a beautiful board.
Don't be afraid to layer! After you finish your board, layer gherkins, nuts, or other small items. This will make the board look full and fill any awkward gaps you might have.
Final tip: when your guests arrive, introduce your board! Quickly give them a run down on the cheeses you have included. Is it sweet or savory? Is it spicy or mild?
For pairings, try the following:
Brie + Raisin Cracker
Camembert with honey and rosemary
Brie with a fig or grape on a raisin cracker
Toscano with meat or a savory cracker. It also pairs well with rosemary or gherkins!
Enjoy!!
